Can I have permission
to use the Kuhlmann Sisters music for a
performance of my own?
The Kuhlmann Sisters would love to have
you perform their music live and all we
would ask is that you would give
acknowledgement to us as the authors and
original artists. If you would like to
record one of our songs, please contact us.
If you have purchased the “He & 3” album,
the accompaniment trax are already on your
cd for you to enjoy by yourself or for use
with a Praise and Worship team. If you’d
like to reprint or reproduce selections from
our kids cds, please
contact us.
How can I get a copy
of the video “You Are the Ones”?
Please send an email requesting the video
as this is not available for purchase in The
Store. This is a great salute to all those
in uniform and should be shared, especially
on Patriotic Holidays and days that honor
those who have served – Veteran’s Day,
Memorial Day and Independence Day. We’ve
used this video for ‘welcome home’ and ‘send
off’' events for our troops in the past
year. There’s never a dry eye in the hall –
a picture can say a thousand words. Sheet
music and accompaniment trax for “You Are
The Ones” are also available in
The Store.
How did you get
started in this business?
We grew up on a farm in western Iowa. We
started singing around the kitchen sink. We
think Mom thought we were the automatic
dishwashers! To stop our complaining, she
taught us to sing. Three part harmony was a
natural part of life and our first songs
were those we sung in church on Sunday
mornings. We all took piano lessons and
played different instruments in band at
school, although many times we just sang a
cappella. Then Kathy picked up the guitar in
college, and off we went singing John Denver
and many, many folk songs. We all went to
college at Iowa State University. That’s
when our first job came up – and the rest is
history!! So now we’ve been at it for 17
years – Whew!
How often do you
work? Where can I see the Kuhlmann Sisters? How
come your schedule is not posted on your site?
Our schedule varies constantly and that’s
what’s fun about our job. Nothing is ever
the same. During some weeks, we perform
everyday (sometimes even twice a day) and
other weeks, we will work in the studio
singing jingles or working on our own
projects. The best part about our job is we
are able to care for our families and have a
flexible schedule.
Unfortunately, much of our work is
private events the public is not able to
attend. This is why we don’t list the dates
on the web site. However, there are many
community festivals and concerts you may be
able to attend and for those dates please
email us and request events for your area.
How can I book the
Kuhlmann Sisters for an event I’m having? What
kind of events do you play for?
Please email or call us at the numbers on
the Contact page
of this site. We’d love to play for your
group and will coordinate the dates!
In order to work in this business on a
full time basis, we work in many facets of
the music industry. We sing for community
festivals; inspirational concerts; with
symphony orchestras; a cappella; or with
guitars, keyboards, mandolin, flutes and
other instruments. Our repertoire is
extensive. We also write music for
conventions and sing many commercials you
may hear on TV and radio in the Midwest
region.
Are you really
sisters?
Yes – we are really sisters. This is the
most asked question from our audiences. They
say there’s a certain blend only sisters can
have – and we’ve been told we’ve got it.
After recording, sometimes we can’t even
tell who’s singing which part!
We’ve tried to answer many of your questions,
but if you need more information, please
contact us! |
